Making Heritage Affordable for All Through Abhay Bhutada Foundation
Visitors to Shivsrushti in Pune will now be able to experience its historical offerings for just Rs 50 between May 15 and July 15, 2025. This has been made possible through a Rs 51 lakh contribution from the Abhay Bhutada Foundation. The move is aimed at increasing public access to cultural and educational experiences without financial limitations.
Abhay Bhutada, a member of the Poonawalla Group and the founder of the Abhay Bhutada Foundation, has consistently supported causes that uplift communities through knowledge and learning. The subsidised entry initiative is in line with that broader goal—enabling people, especially families and students, to engage with Indian history in an immersive and thoughtful manner.

Focused Initiative for Public Benefit
This donation is intended to increase footfall at Shivsrushti, encouraging more people to engage with the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The park has been designed to educate and inspire, featuring several attractions that detail important moments from Shivaji Maharaj’s life.
From warfare strategies and spiritual values to governance and administration, the exhibits offer a wide view of his contribution to India’s history. The idea is not just to narrate history, but to involve people in a journey through time.
A Theme Park Built with a Purpose
Shivsrushti occupies 21 acres in Ambegaon Budruk and is one of the few historical parks that blend traditional narratives with modern technology. Built around the vision of the late historian Babasaheb Purandare, the park was created to provide an educational space that also entertains.
It includes advanced elements like holography and projection mapping to recreate the story of Shivaji Maharaj. One of the most appreciated attractions is the Time Machine Theatre, which allows visitors to relive important milestones of history in a highly engaging format.
The park’s infrastructure is designed to cater to all age groups and is completely air-conditioned. This ensures that visitors have a comfortable experience, even during the peak summer months.
Showcasing History Through Engaging Sections
Visitors to Shivsrushti can explore a range of themed areas that each tell a different part of Shivaji Maharaj’s story:
Durg Vaibhav: Highlights the forts built under his leadership and the military thinking behind them.
Ranangan: Offers details of the key battles and strategic brilliance of Shivaji Maharaj.
Shrimant Yogi: Focuses on his spiritual life, values, and guiding principles.
Sinhasanadhishwar: Covers his coronation and governance methods.
Apart from these, the park includes a replica of the Tulja Bhavani temple, a Ganga Sagar lake, and a high-resolution art gallery showcasing rare paintings. These sections are meant to enhance historical understanding through visual and spatial learning.
Digital Convenience for Visitors
To maintain order and improve convenience, ticket sales will be conducted exclusively online via the official Shivsrushti website. This ensures a smoother experience for visitors, who can book in advance and plan their visits easily. It also helps the management regulate crowds and maintain safety protocols.
Given the reduced ticket prices and the upcoming summer season, a sharp rise in attendance is expected. Schools, cultural organisations, and families are likely to use this opportunity to plan educational visits.

How Abhay Bhutada Foundation Adds Value to Society
The support from the Abhay Bhutada Foundation goes beyond financial contribution. It shows how carefully planned philanthropic action can directly benefit public knowledge and cultural participation. According to Shivsrushti Chairman Jagdish Kadam, the park was envisioned as a space that could bring people closer to Shivaji Maharaj’s life and values.
This partnership allows that vision to become accessible to a wider audience. With reduced cost barriers, more people can engage with the content and take back meaningful lessons from the experience.
Encouraging Learning Beyond Classrooms
Efforts like this make it possible for learning to extend beyond textbooks. Cultural spaces like Shivsrushti play a unique role in helping people connect with their roots. The themes of leadership, service, and resilience are presented in ways that are simple to grasp and hard to forget.
By enabling low-cost access, the initiative also supports school trips and educational groups that often struggle with budget constraints. It allows teachers and mentors to use real-life exhibitions as teaching tools, enriching classroom discussions with live historical examples.

Creating Long-Term Social Impact
When philanthropic efforts focus on inclusion and education, they create long-term benefits. Children who grow up with access to such experiences often develop a deeper appreciation for heritage and social responsibility. They begin to understand how past values continue to shape the present.
This collaboration also serves as a model for future partnerships. Institutions that work for public good often need private contributions to scale their impact. The Abhay Bhutada Foundation, by supporting Shivsrushti, shows how that can be done in a focused and efficient way.
A Step Toward Greater Awareness
The reduced ticket campaign may only last for two months, but the impact it generates will be longer lasting. Thousands of visitors will have the chance to walk through history, ask questions, and explore Indian heritage from new angles.
Efforts like these ensure that the doors of cultural learning are open to everyone. With contributions that reflect care, purpose, and planning, the Abhay Bhutada Foundation has created more than a financial gesture—it has created an opportunity for people to experience something memorable.
